Another conflict in the city derives from Trump’s decision to deploy thousands of national guards and hundreds of marines against the Democratic wishes of Governor Gavin Newsom.
A Federal Court of Appeals ruled on Thursday that Trump can keep the National Guard in Los Angeles for now, which allows the president to continue using the military to quell the protests against his deportation plans. Trump described the decision as a “great victory” in A publication on social networks.
Earlier this month, Vance attacked the protests and used the events that took place in Los Angeles to boost the approval of the Megabill that would advance in Trump’s legislative agenda.
“The insurrectionists who transport foreign flags are attacking immigration agents, while half of the United States political leadership has decided that the border application is evil,” Vance wrote in an x publication. “It is time to approve the beautiful bill of President Trump and further ensure the border.”
